I'm behind in my "therapy" already. I seem to always have another project that competes for my time whenever I do a cure. While Saturday was very productive, Sunday was spent going to some open houses and shortening a skirt for an upcoming dance performance. Monday evening I was devoid of energy and last night was spent practicing for the performance (as I will be tonight). Hopefully on Thursday evening I can make some progress on my kitchen. I need to find a better way to store my pots and pans. Right now it's a process just to get them in or out of the cabinet. I'm not wild about the look of hanging pots on the wall since it tends to look cluttered, but I'm not sure what the other options are. I'm sure eliminating some of them will help. I'll see what I can do.

We just cleared a Mini's worth of stuff out of our basement. Six bags of clothes for charity and five bags of paper and cardboard recycling. There is finally space at the bottom of the basement steps. I should have taken a picture of my car filled to capacity, but I forgot. I'm not used to this whole blogging thing yet and it's almost necessity of photographing everything along the way. I've also put away most of the mountain of clothes in the bedroom. It's nice being able to walk freely in there. More to be done tomorrow!

Well, I've uploaded my before shots to the Apartment Therapy Cure NY group. You can see them here. I'm afraid to even photo my basement at this point. Most of the apartment isn't too bad. I want to focus mostly on my kitchen and the basement. Although my kitchen looks okay, it's very cold, both literally and figuratively. I don't enjoy spending time in there really. It isn't particularly convenient for cooking (I haven't yet figured out why) and the plastic-y finishes for the floor and counters and the metal table give it a cold feel even if it isn't actually cold. I'm going to look into rearranging furniture and reorganizing/ cleaning out the cabinets. Also, once yard sale season starts (I'm an addict), I'll keep an eye out for a wood table that can help warm up the look of the room. The basement, on the other hand, needs major decluttering. It is the dumping ground for anything we don't have room for up here, plus lots of my boyfriends extra stuff from when he moved his apartment into mine. The rest of the rooms just need a little weeding so I figure any extra time I have during the weeks for those rooms can be spent on the kitchen and basement.

One of my favorite blogs, Apartment Therapy, is having their semi-annual Apartment Therapy Cure! My apartment isn't as sick as it has been before previous cures, but it could definitely use a little purging and spring cleaning. Below is a picture of my home office "after" featured on AT during the last cure.

Well, over the weekend I found out that someone else snatched up the house I wanted. The realtor said that she hadn't seen that much action on a house in a while. Someone bought it within a couple days of it being listed. Now we are thinking that maybe moving to Austin isn't such a bad idea. For the same price as a bland, fixer upper around here you can get a cute cottage with character in a cool neighborhood in a city, not the suburbs! I'd have to get used to the heat, but 100 degrees in July can't be any worse that 12 degrees in February!
